Challenging Domestic Violence
This one-day course, developed and delivered by NDVF, assists participants to gain a greater understanding about why men perpetrate domestic violence by assessing the various theories for its causes.
The session identifies the links between men’s beliefs and their behavior and helps participants to recognise when domestic violence is occurring. It also examines the risks attached to confidentiality and collusion, explores appropriate ways to respond to men who use domestic violence against women, and assists participants to review their policies and practices and develop closer inter-agency links.
