24 Hour Domestic Violence Help-line

This resource pack provides a reference and practical tool for Community Safety Working Groups (CSWGs) within Nottingham, in partnership with local community groups, to lead an effective action planning approach to dealing with domestic violence in their local area. This resource pack is aimed at: · CSWGs and other community safety practitioners responsible for the implementation of local projects to tackle and prevent domestic violence · local policy makers · community representatives with an interest in establishing local programmes to prevent and in tackling domestic violence

The aim of the Nottingham Domestic Violence Strategy is to develop consistent and effective multi agency working to tackle domestic violence and provide high quality services to make Nottingham a place where people want to live and work’

This policy aims to: To demonstrate Nottingham City Council's commitment to challenging the crime of domestic violence. · To raise awareness of the extent and nature of domestic violence. · To assist and support Nottingham City Council employees who are victims or survivors of and want help in addressing problems arising from domestic violence. · To equip Nottingham City Council Managers with the knowledge to recognise, address and help prevent domestic violence/abuse. Domestic violence may impact on victims / survivors time and performance at work. · To provide guidance to Nottingham City Council Managers on possible action against employees who are perpetrators.

It aims to assist you in responding to concerns and provides useful information on good practice in relation to vulnerable children and adults. You will also find a list of useful resources and contacts within the department, the city council and other organisations.

Nottingham City Homes in partnership with Nottingham City Council has developed this domestic violence policy to ensure a consistent service for survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence and their children. The policy should be considered with the Nottingham City Homes domestic violence procedures and the Housing Direct domestic violence procedures.
