WHO Multi-country Study on Women’s Health and Domestic Violence against Women
The WHO Multi-country Study on Women’s Health and Domestic Violence against Women is a landmark research project, both in its scope and in how it was carried out. For the results presented in this report, specially trained teams collected data from over 24 000 women from 15 sites in 10 countries representing diverse cultural settings: Bangladesh, Brazil, Ethiopia, Japan, Namibia, Peru, Samoa, Serbia and Montenegro, Thailand, and the United Republic of Tanzania.
The Response of Child Protection Practices and Procedures to children exposed to domestic violence and substance use
DFES and Royal Holloway University of London The study was carried out during the period October 2002 to June 2005. It aimed to: explore how children’s social care responds to families where problems require the intervention of both adult and children's services; identify the factors that enable different agencies to successfully work together at the various stages of assessment, planning, service delivery and review; explore children’s and parent’s experiences of professional interventions – what factors do they find most supportive. Six English local authorities participated in the study.
Elder Abuse -Comic relief research
"The UK Study of Abuse and Neglect of Older People, carried out by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) and King’s College London (KCL), was commissioned by Comic Relief and the Department of Health. Over 2,100 people in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland took part in the survey between March and September 2006. The survey included people aged 66 and over living in private households (including sheltered accommodation)."
