The Choice and Opportunity project: Young women and sexual exploitation
'This action research project was developed in partnership with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and Middlesex University. It focused on case studies of 55 young women at risk of, or experiencing, sexual exploitation and/or prostitution. The work drew on the young women’s own stories about the choices and opportunities available to them in their transition to adulthood.'

The response of child protection practices and proceedures to children exposed to domestic violence or parental substance use
Preliminary executive summary from the DFES and Royal Holloway University of London. The study was carried out during the period October 2002 to June 2005. It aimed to: explore how children’s social care responds to families where problems require the intervention of both adult and children's services; identify the factors that enable different agencies to successfully work together at the various stages of assessment, planning, service delivery and review; explore children’s and parent’s experiences of professional interventions – what factors do they find most supportive. Six English local authorities participated in the study.
