Nottinghamshire Police Launches new Domestic Violence Information Card and Website
Valentine’s Day will see thousands of cards distributed around Nottinghamshire to signpost victims of domestic violence to help and support.
Nottinghamshire Police, in partnership with Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Forum and Nottingham Crime and Drugs Partnership, today launched the new information card which will be available to all professionals working with people experiencing violence, and a tie-in website providing information to those affected by domestic violence.
The card is an updated version of the resource that NDVF has been distributing for over 10 years, it is printed on easy to conceal flexible card and contains up-to-date essential advice and information, including the 24hr Freephone Helpline number.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Alexander, from Nottinghamshire Police’s Protective Services, said:
- “For a decade, these cards have been an invaluable source of information for people who live in Nottinghamshire and are experiencing domestic violence and may be considering seeking help…
- “There are more than 20 organisations listed on the information card, which people experiencing all types of domestic violence can turn to for help and support. I would reassure anyone in this situation that you do not have to suffer alone. Please tell someone about it and they will get you the help you need.”
A spokesperson for NDVF said:
- “The domestic violence and abuse information cards are a key element to enabling women to access domestic violence services in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. They are used by professionals across the county to provide information to women at times of need.
- “Over the last ten years NDVF has produced and distributed one million of these cards in Nottinghamshire. This version will continue to be invaluable in assisting women to find the help they need.”
