Women trafficked into prostitution in Nottinghamshire
Women from the Far East were trafficked into Notts to work as prostitutes.
They were set up in rented properties in Aspley, Clifton, Sherwood and Sutton-in-Ashfield.
But police rescued half a dozen of the women, who had paid £15,000 each to be brought to Britain. They also arrested three people involved in the operation.
Detective Inspector Ian Winton, of Notts sexual exploitation investigation unit, said: "All of the women we spoke to talked in the terms of paying large sums of money - around £15,000 - to people who arranged the transport to the UK, and they had to work in the off-street sex industry to pay it off."
Information from Nottingham Evening Post.
