These issues can also be part of a context of child abuse, prostitution as well as domestic violence. Please access the websites linked here for more information. If you are worried about someone you feel may be trafficked or is being sexually exploited the United Kingdom Trafficking Centre offers the following advice:
"If you’re a Victim:
The police can help. In the case of important urgent information that requires an immediate response contact a Police Officer, your local Police force or dial 999.
Alternatively if you are a victim, or have information that will help lead to the identification and recovery of victims in the UK, you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 and give information, this can be done anonymously and you may be able to claim a reward. "
The POPPY Project was set up in 2003. It is funded by the Office for Criminal Justice Reform (reporting to the Ministry of Justice) to provide accommodation and support to women who have been trafficked into prostitution. It has 35 bed spaces in houses throughout London. The poppy project can be accessed through the website link.
