Sexual Abuse and Violence
Sexual abuse and violence might be used in an abusive relationship. This might include:
- being forced into sex.
- being made to take part in sexual activities you are not comfortable with,
- being made to watch or look at pornography.
- being forced to have sex without protection.
- being forced into prostitution or encouraged to have sex with your partners friends when you don't want to.
- Any other behaviour you are not comfortable with.
Generally any sexual behaviour that you are made to take part in or that you feel you have little choice than to take part in, and makes you feel uncomfortable or scared, may be sexual abuse.
You can talk through your experiences as part of the support you might get from the mens advice line. For specialist support for rape (being forced to have sex) or sexual assault either from a partner or stranger you can access the Topaz Centre. See links.
