Report from Civitas states domestic violence crimes underestimated

The report states that presently the British Crime Survey figures are calculated by capping the amount of crimes to five.  Where a victim reports a crime more than five times this is put down by the report as five.  Through re-calculating the rates Farrell and Pease have revealed an extra 3 million ommitted crimes.  In terms of domestic abuse this figure increases the amount of reported domestic violence crimes by 150 percent.
