Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Forum is governed by a board of trustees and committee members. The members come from a variety of organisations and bring different skills and experience.  NDVF is presently looking for new Management Committee members to take a part in the future development of our domestic violence work in Nottinghamshire.  If you are interested in being a part of the commitee of our pioneeering organisation please contact NDVF on 0115 9623237.

What Skills will you need?

Management Committees need a variety of skills, knowledge and experience to function well.  You may have had previous committee experience, you may have worked in the domestic violence sector, you may have experience of managing an organisation or you may just have the drive and interest to want to get involved.

How much time will I need to give?

Presently the Committee meets once a month for two hours and from this meeting there may be some follow up work required.  Committee Members may expect to offer a minimum of four hours a month, particularly for the first six months of being involved.

What can NDVF offer you?

As part of the induction process onto the Committee NDVF can offer training on aspects of governance or committee functioning.  We also want to give committee members an active role in the organisation, this might be through attending or chairing our seminars, joining in or attending the training we deliver or inputting into good practice documents we produce.  Being part of a Management Committee can be an opportunity to gain new skills and become a vital part of an organisation.

What is the process to become a Management Committee member?

We are happy to invite you to the office for an informal meeting with one of the staff team.  If after this meeting you feel you might like to get involved we ask potential members to fill in a simple form detailing what skills, knowledge and experience you feel you have to offer the Committee.
