Information and Resources Project

Information and resources

The information and resource project has several main functions.  These include:

Seminars

To arrange a minimum of three seminars a year on the theme of domestic violence.  These are free to service users.

Seminars are arranged on a specific theme.  Last years themes included:

  • Women that stay in abusive relationships
  • Domestic Violence and health.
  • The need for specialist services

Training

Ndvf provides training on domestic violence awareness and challenging domestic violence to professionals working in Nottinghamshire.  These courses are multi-agency day long events that are free to workers in Nottinghamshire.  If you would like details of training dates please contact NDVF using the contact form.

NDVF also provides specialist training days on specific issues:

  • Advanced skills for working with male perpetrators
  • Domestic violence and disability
  • Domestic violence in same sex relationships
  • Black women talk domestic violence
Training is also being developed on working with men experiencing domestic violence.

Resource Materials

NDVF have developed resource materials on domestic violence.  These include posters, information cards for women experiencing domestic violence, leaflets on same sex abuse and information for professionals.  For a full list of resources available follow the link to the information and resources order form.

Presently most of these resources are free unless otherwise indicated but donations are always welcome to enable us to keep providing them free of charge.  In 2006 alone we distributed over 54,000 free resource materials.
