British Crime Survey 2005/2006 results published

The British Crime Survey results for 2005/2006 have revealed that 29% of the women interviewed had experienced domestic violence since they were 16...

The supplementary document ' Homicides, Firearm Offences and Intimate Violence 2005/2006' details specifically these categories of violence. In terms of homicides; of women murdered 61 per cent were killed by their partner, expartner or lover. 12 % of male victims were killed by their partner, ex-partner or lover.

The summary for intimate violence is based on self completion questionnaires and is also inclusive of violence from other family members as well as partner/ ex partner abuse.
