Breaking Free Exhibition - New Venues for the summer
These are the thoughts of one woman who came to see the exhibition over the past few months - - many others, including children, have found the exhibition to be thought-provoking and it has encouraged much discussion about the extent and effects of this crime. For some, it has allowed them to an opportunity to express feelings that had been buried for years and even to acknowledge, perhaps for the first time, current/past violence in their own relationships.ese were thoughts from a woman who cam to see the exhibition over the last few months. We have been able to secure two further venues for the exhibition during the summer months in the hope that as many people as possible have the opportunity to view it or to tie into some event they are already holding – here are the new details: JUNE The exhibition will be based at Bulwell Healthy Living Centre, Lawton Drive, Bulwell, where some work will be done with the groups using the centre already. If you would like to visit the exhibition, individually or as part of a group, please can you phone first to check it is accessible to members of the public on the day you wish to attend (0115 979 4708) . JULY TO SEPTEMBER The exhibition makes a move out of the City into the County and will be based at the Ashfield Women’s Centre, Kirkby Folly School, Diamond Avenue, Kirkby in Ashfield. This is a large, bright and modern WOMEN ONLY centre, and we will be running some workshops during the summer which are still in the planning stage and hosting an event at their Open Day on 8 September. If you are interested, please contact wendy@ndvf.co.uk and details will be forwarded as soon as final arrangements are made. If your own group would like to attend and perhaps organise an event yourselves connected to the exhibition while it is at Ashfield, please can you phone and speak direct to the Centre (Cheryl 01623 473010). NDVF have a limited supply of posters and postcards connected to the exhibition, so if you are going to hold your own event based around the exhibition, please contact wendy@ndvf.co.uk for supplies.
